The RPA Law & Risk Management course equips you with the knowledge and tools to confidently navigate legal obligations and mitigate risk. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how to identify potential exposures, evaluate and manage losses, interpret insurance policies, and apply key legal principles to everyday decision-making. Core topics include risk management processes, insurance fundamentals, claims and underwriting, torts and contracts, employer–employee relationships, property rights, environmental legislation, and more.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand key concepts in contract law and how they impact real estate operations
- Be able to discuss the legal aspects of commercial real estate financing
- Understand environmental law, regulatory requirements, and land-use issues
- Be able to identify and assess potential legal liabilities
